It is a great honour to represent the Netherlands on the World Championship. But it takes a lot of preparation and organisation in advance. I was selected in the Netherlands in February. After this selection, the preparations began. This is not only flower arranging. First of all, you have to find an assistant. Then, the thinking starts about the designs. There are three assignments to prepare: a table arrangement, a wedding arrangement and a free arrangement.

Then, you have to know the rules of this competition. It is very strict and if you don’t follow the rules, you get penalty points. In the Netherlands, Linda Eising is the best to ask about these things. We took the time to find out how to deal with these rules.

Every task has his own construction. It has to be stable but you have to think about the transport as well. Because the event is in the UK, export papers are needed. And to get the right flowers, I had to find sponsors as well. So, not only flower arranging but organisation as well. It is really exiting!
